Maverik Gas Discount: Adventure Club and the Nitro Card

Maverik's free Adventure Club card takes up to 2¢ off a gallon. The Nitro card takes the greater of 10¢ a gallon off or Maverik's Instant Price Match discount. Nitro is free too, but it pulls money straight from your checking account.

Read "the greater of" carefully. Those two numbers do not add. Nitro gives you whichever is bigger on the day, and nothing more.

What the terms actually say

From Maverik's Adventure Club Card Rewards Program terms:

• Adventure Club card holders "may receive up to two cents ($0.02) discount from the posted retail pump price for the purchase of each gallon of diesel fuel or gasoline."
• Nitro card holders may receive "the greater of up to ten cents ($0.10) discount from the posted retail pump price for purchase of each gallon of diesel fuel or gallon of gasoline, or up to the Instant Price Match discount established by Maverik."
• In California, Nitro customers "will receive up to twelve cents ($0.12) or more off the posted credit fuel price of each gallon."

Note "up to" throughout. These are ceilings, not guarantees.

How Instant Price Match works

Maverik checks "publicly posted credit prices at qualified local competitors within each location's designated market area, including most competitors within a 2-mile radius," and there is a published maximum of 60¢ a gallon.

What it will not match: competitors' programs, limited-time promotions, flash discounts, or bundled offers such as a car wash plus fuel discount. So a rival's loyalty price does not trigger a match — only its posted credit price.

How to sign up

The Adventure Club card is free. The Nitro card is an upgrade through the Maverik mobile app, and it requires linking a checking account for ACH debit. We found no fee on the pages we checked, but we could not load Maverik's own pages directly, so treat the fee position as unverified.

Trail Points

A separate currency: 1 point per gallon of fuel and 2 points per dollar on eligible in-store merchandise.

How to stack it

Very little, and the structure explains why.

Nitro is "the greater of," not a sum. Ten cents or the price match, whichever is larger. That is a choice between two values.

Nitro is itself the payment rail. Because it draws from checking, a rewards credit card cannot be used on the same transaction, so you cannot earn a card's gas bonus on a Nitro fill.

Nothing is published about cashback apps or outside credit-card fuel programs.

Watch-outs

A promotional rate closed on 7 September 2026. NACS, 12 May 2026, and CSP Daily News documented Maverik raising the Nitro discount from 10¢ to 15¢ a gallon from 12 May through Labor Day, 7 September 2026. That window has closed, so the rate should have reverted to 10¢. Confirm at the pump before assuming 15¢.

A "Nitro Deeper Discount" page advertises 25¢ a gallon at select locations for a limited time. That figure comes from a search-engine extract of maverik.com/nitro rather than from the page itself, which would not load for us on 22 September 2026, and it is location-specific. Unverified.

Where it works. More than 380 locations across 12 western states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. That count is Maverik's own, reached through a search-engine extract of its pages rather than read off maverik.com directly. Re-check the store locator.

Member price vs. the sign price

Maverik's own terms answer this repeatedly and clearly: the benefit is a discount "from the posted retail pump price," and in California "off the posted credit fuel price." The sign is the same for everyone, and your saving comes off it. The California wording also implies the two-tier cash and credit posting familiar in that state.
