Meijer Gas Discount: How mPerks Fuel Rewards Work
Free mPerks membership converts grocery points into fuel rewards worth 10¢ to $1.00 off per gallon at Meijer gas stations.

Meijer's mPerks program is free, and it turns the points you earn on groceries into fuel rewards worth 10¢ to $1.00 off a gallon at Meijer gas stations. The catch is that you have to claim the reward in the app before you pull up to the pump.
Meijer publishes a four-step ladder on its fuel promo page: 1,000 points gets you 10¢ a gallon, 2,000 gets 20¢, 5,000 gets 50¢, and 10,000 gets a dollar. Fuel itself does not earn points, apart from occasional promotions. Points come from what you buy inside the store, and the pump is where you spend them.
How to sign up
Sign up free at meijer.com/mperks or in the Meijer app. Meijer's own newsroom puts it plainly: "Signing up for mPerks is easy and free."
At the pump, enter your mPerks ID and PIN before you start pumping. If you link a credit card to your account, Meijer's Quick ID feature lets you skip the phone-and-PIN step.
How to stack it
The big credit-card stack has ended. Through 22 September 2026, paying with the Meijer Credit Card added an extra 20¢ a gallon on top of a claimed mPerks reward, turning the ladder into 30¢, 40¢, 70¢ or $1.20 a gallon on up to 30 gallons. Meijer published that offer as running through 9/22/26, and it has now run out.
Meijer's promo page described a smaller standing credit-card discount taking over afterwards, but meijer.com refused our reader when we went back to check on 22 September 2026, so we are not putting a number on it. Read the fuel promo page yourself before you count on the card adding anything.
Meijer has published nothing about whether cashback apps like Upside work on top of an mPerks fuel reward. No published rule is not the same as permission. Treat it as unknown.
Watch-outs
Two expiry clocks, not one. Points expire 90 days after you earn them. And once you claim a fuel reward, that reward expires in 45 days if you don't use it. Claiming early and forgetting is the common way people lose a dollar-a-gallon reward.
You must claim before you pump. The reward has to be claimed and confirmed in mPerks first. There is no way to apply it afterward.
No published gallon cap on mPerks alone. The 30-gallon ceiling that gets quoted belonged to the credit-card promotion that has now ended; Meijer publishes no gallon limit for an mPerks fuel reward on its own. Your tank is the real limit either way: at the top of the ladder, $1.00 a gallon off a 14-gallon fill is $14.
Wisconsin is carved out. Fuel rewards cannot be redeemed at Meijer Express stations in Wisconsin. The program works in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky.
Member price vs. the sign price
The sign price is the same for everyone. Your reward comes off that price at the pump after you enter your mPerks ID, so a non-member standing at the next pump is paying the number on the sign.
