Wawa Gas Discount: What Wawa Rewards Is Actually Worth

Wawa Rewards is free, and its points can be traded for fuel discounts in the Rewards Store — but Wawa does not publish what those discounts are worth per gallon. The only cents-per-gallon figure Wawa publishes anywhere is on its credit card: 5¢ a gallon, every day, after a 75¢ intro period.

That gap is worth knowing before you download anything. At most chains you can work out your saving in advance. At Wawa you find out when you open the Rewards Store.

How to sign up

Wawa Rewards is free. Download the Wawa app or register a Wawa Rewards card. There is no paid tier.

The Wawa Mastercard is a separate credit application through First National Bank of Omaha, subject to credit approval.

What the credit card pays

Per FNBO's current offer, you "save 75¢/gallon for the first 30 days as a statement credit, then 5¢/gallon after that."

Read "statement credit" carefully. The fuel benefit does not appear as a lower price at the pump. It shows up on your card statement later. The card also earns 3x points per $1 on Wawa purchases, but that excludes fuel at the pump, and 1x elsewhere, with a $25 Wawa gift card awarded per 2,500 points.

The current card offer runs 9/8/2026 to 10/31/2026 and requires applying through the advertised link. Wawa notes that offers vary elsewhere.

How to stack it

Wawa publishes that "Credit card points are separate from points earned with Wawa Rewards," so the two balances do not combine.

Whether a Wawa Rewards fuel redemption stacks with the card's 5¢ statement credit is not stated anywhere we could find. Same for cashback apps. Treat both as unknown rather than allowed.

Watch-outs

New Jersey cannot redeem fuel rewards at all. Wawa's own page states that rewards "cannot be redeemed on fuel transactions in New Jersey or where prohibited by state law." New Jersey is one of Wawa's three largest states by store count, so this affects a lot of people.

The numbers are not published. We could not record points-per-dollar earn rates, the cents value of each fuel reward tier, gallon caps, or point expiry. Wawa's Rewards FAQ and the wawarewards.com terms are built in a way that does not serve readable content to anything but a browser. Rather than repeat figures from deal blogs, we have left them out. Check the Rewards Store in the app for what your balance is actually worth today.

Thresholds change. Wawa states that "Points thresholds and products available in Rewards Store are subject to change."

Member price vs. the sign price

Wawa publishes something better than a member price: the same price for everyone regardless of how you pay. In its own words, "none of our fuel stores add a credit surcharge because we believe in simple, clear pricing on everything. You pay the same low fuel prices with cash or credit." Loyalty discounts apply to your transaction, not to the sign.
